"I grew up in upstate New York, moved to Sacramento at 16, then joined the Army straight out of high school. After serving 8 years in the Army Reserve and living several adventures, I decided to pursue my dream to become a helicopter pilot. The school I attended ended up going bankrupt before I could gain any certificate, and left me in debt and skilless. After many years of menial jobs following, I decided to get back into the world of aviation, only this time with drones. I have a passion and vision for drone work; from cinematography, to utility inspections, to real estate. I love the versatility of what drones can do, and their rapid growth into many industries.
When I’m not flying drones, I love to play guitar, ensure my dog Jack isn’t eating anything like our couch or hot tub cover, travel around the world and scuba dive with my girlfriend, and hang out with friends."

Y-Axis Aerial Services is a drone imaging company based out of Sacramento, CA. Founder/Operator Carl Reed started the company in 2019, with a focus on real estate photography. He quickly learned about the versatility of drones, and their potential in many industries. Within a few months, Carl was hired to film a music video in LA, a traveling documentary down the west coast, commercials, roof inspections, and running events. He has also worked with major utilites companies using drones to photograph their power assets for inspection.
Y-Axis Aerial Services' pilots are FAA Part 107 certified, and hold at least $1 Million insurance policies specific for commercial drone operations.
